Our Projects

CITAD has the following programmatic units:
Computer Literacy Project (CLP): This aims at the building of the capacity of citizens to use ICTs. Target groups for training under this include members of community-based organizations (CBOs), NGOs, women groups, children, workers and people under special care.

ICTs4GG: This consists of a series of progrmames, projects and interventions aimed promoting the use of ICTs for democracy and good governance. It provides training to both civil society group and government officials on leveraging ICTs as tools for administration. Training ranges from basic skills to advanced social media skills

Community Access Network (CAN): This democracy project is for members of our host community, CBOs, NGOs, and others to network in the efforts for promoting democracy and good governance in the country.

ICTs4JC: This is aimed at using ICT to promote job creation and reduce unemployment: the focus here is to train young people to be entrepreneurs, especially in the ICT sector. Trained young people are provided with mentoring opportunities by established entrepreneurs as well as provided with access to be business set up support partners.

Schoolnet Project: This is targeted at teachers and students in public and community schools.
The ICT Business Development: by providing condition for the growth of ICT market, the ICT business community is served. It also benefits from market trends monitoring and information services as well as from business development consulting services of CITAD targeted at teachers and students in public and community schools.

IT Research and Adaptation Project (IT-RAP): The objective of this is to promote local research and development in ICTs. It will serve as technology acquisition and dispersal centre. Its activities shall be tailored to provide entrepreneurs with the latest skills and knowledge in ICTs.

Trade in ICTs Monitor (TIM): TIM is to ensure that trade in ICTs is done in a manner consistent with our development needs. To this end CITAD monitors the nature and impact of this trade.
